On August 22, 2008 we lost our beloved wolfhound, Dageus. There are
times with our big guys that we have no explanation why they have to
make their journey to the Rainbow Bridge so early, but its their path
and we are left to grieve and accept it. He was always our big bouncy
boy. I don't think in the two and a half years we had him that he ever
completely figured out just how big he was. He was always the puppy
that wanted nothing more than to be loved and petted. He made the long
trip here from Ireland and stepped into our lives as if he always
belonged here. Everything he did was done with enthusiasm. I don't
think I have ever seen such a big smile on a dog and it was always
there. If you said his name, his smile appeared, tongue lolling out.
Until the day I see him again at the bridge and I feel that big heavy
lean as I rub his side again, I send him our love. You are always in my
heart, my big boy.
